Gnaoua World Music Festival 2017 Essaouira

Gnaoua World Music Festival is one of the most visited music festival in Morocco, it takes place annually in Essaouira during four days in June.
The Essaouira Gnaoua and World Music Festival was born 19 years ago, it celebrates Gnaoui music, it showcases the great Mâalemines (Masters) Gnaouas playing the mystical and sacred music of the Gnawa. Gnaoua are people originated from West Africa, they use traditional musical instruments mainly 'krakebs' which are two large metal castanet-type instruments knocked together rhythmically.

Events of the festival take place at the two large doors of the medina (Place Moulay el Hassan, and Bab Marrakesh).
